 | "I am patient, persistent and focused. I take everything step by step covering every base along the way to the point where I drive everyone around me crazy."
Peter Baron , born and raised in Greenwich Village, Soho, New York was most influenced by guitar-based rock bands of the 70's and 80's. Peter Baron's sound has been described as a combination of modern edgy pop rock and 70's metal. You might say Zeppelin/Aerosmith meets Foo Fighters/Alanis Morrisette.
At 17, Peter landed a spot as second guitarist with Leslie West of Mountain and toured the U.S./Canada with Leslie on and off for four years. Performances included stadiums, coliseums and well-known clubs, playing to audiences as large as 70,000 with some of the biggest bands on the planet. Some of the artists include Kiss, Metallica, Peter Frampton, Lou Reed, Sammy Hagar, Joan Jett , Slash of Guns N Roses and many, many more.
In 1996, Peter toured and recorded with rock singer Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple, Ingwie Malmsteen). Peter toured the East Coast as Joe Lynn's lead guitarist and performed on Joe's album "Undercover".
In February 2002, Kivel Records released Baron's album "Love Valley". Love Valley was produced by Eddie Kramer (Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix) and co-produced by Peter. Recorded two weeks after September 11th, it features an instrumental version of the Star Spangled Banner as well as songs: In the Rain, Everybody Needs a Boost, Midnight Train and Corruptible. It received a 93% rating from MelodicRock.com and made NEH Record Stores' 2002's Top 20 List. Expect to see Peter performing with his band Baron in the U.S. and look for the new studio album on Kivel Records currently in the works.
Baron's current lineup features Peter on guitar and lead vocals, Tony Lazzara on drums and Joe Vasta on bass guitar..
Tony Lazzara packs a big punch and is the motor force of the band. His technical ability is outstanding and his feel for creating pocket rhythms within a song's framework makes him an integral part of the band. . Tony is also a producer/songwriter and has released albums of his own.
Joe Vasta and Peter go back to the days of their popular Staten Island band, "Fantasy", as band mates...Fantasy also included drummer Frankie Larocka, [Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Scandal,as well as producer of The Spin Doctors] and lead vocalist Tony Pompa....Since then Joey has recorded albums ,videos as well as toured with the likes of Billy Idol, John Waite,Scandal, Mink Deville, Robert Gordon and many more... Vasta's bass playing can be heard on John Waites "Every Step Of The Way'' and Billy Idol's "Flesh For Fantasy" ...Joe Vasta is an exceptional musician also playing guitar and keyboards. Sporting over 60 bass guitars and at least 5 world tours. Joe Vasta is an exciting new addition to the Baron lineup. Google Joe Vasta together with Billy Idol or any of the other artists for a more in depth look into Joe's profile ! . Peter's production credits include: Brigitte Hadida (RCA), The Headspins, Q, Joe's Friend (co-produced with Joe Lynn Turner), teen girl pop group Shocking Crystals, Sonic Brothers, Adrian Gale (Kivel Records), and Baron.
